Apple has made it official by sending invites to media for an event to be held in September, that it will be releasing a new iPhone in the market. The leaks, market analysis and experts say that the new iPhone will be called iPhone 9. With that being said, there is still hope that along with iPhone 9, an iPhone Xs or an iPhone X Plus may be released. But uncertainty still prevails, since we’ve been hearing about iPhone 9 since 2017, but nothing has happened till now.

It is expected to be priced between $1,000 to EUR 1,000 (varying in different countries). But, it will not be priced more than the previous iPhone X.

What’s new in iPhone 9?

Well nothing has been made idiocies about the device as of yet. But of course, a new device is always launched keeping in mind the competition prevailing in the market. So, these are a few features expected. These feature are based on Leaks, expectations and assumptions. I repeat – Nothing is Official as of now.

Bigger Battery

Yes, it’s true. For years and years of cribbing and waiting now the iPhone users can finally get a bigger battery (up to 4,000mAh). There’s a lot of hope that Apple might upgrade its batteries with the new iPhones it’s releasing. This comes out of two factors :

1. Apple has been greatly criticized this year for its battery drain in older iPhone models. Not just that, again for the heating problem in MacBook, it was thrashed by media.
2. Apple is losing grip in the market because it is not giving the iOS users the reason to upgrade to a new iPhone. A face unlock and infinity display were not much of a great deal. But, with a bigger battery, possibly all the iOS users will feel the urge to upgrade to the new iPhone.

Dark Mode

If you are tech junkie, you must’ve heard of it already. Well, this feature is in a lot of hype and is pretty trending in the tech world. I even think that if Apple hadn’t initially planned about introducing it in the new iPhone, they now must be thinking to add it after the amazing hype and positive response for it.

For those of you who don’t know, Dark Mode is a feature expected to be launched in iOS 12 that’ll turn your iPhone’s screen black with creamy white out soft colours. It’ll increase premium feel if the iPhone and also relax the eyes of users who have a habit of using their phone for long hours and at night majorly.

Camera Improvements

This is something obvious. Never before has it happened that a new iPhone has been launched without camera Improvements. So of course there will be further Improvements like – Advanced sensors, improved autofocus, improved stability etc..

Another thing to expect is an improvement in the slow motion videography. With the super slow motion launched by Samsung, will Apple launch something better than that or will it simply stick to Samsung’s set standards of 960fps.

3D Touch

3D touch was introduced by Apple in it’s iPhone 7 series. And 3D touch has seen a positive response in the market. So there’s a little possibility that Apple may be planning on vesting on it. We can expect a faster and more sensitive 3D touch, but that should not be irritating either. There’s a fine line between being irritable and being efficient. Apple needs to stay on that fine line, or else it’ll fetch itself a lot of criticism.

On-Screen Fingerprint Scanner

Oppo or Vivo (I’m not sure which one) has already launched a device with an on-screen fingerprint scanner. But till now, we have not seen that feature on a Premium device in the market. So, iPhone 9 can possibly become the first ever premium device with this feature. And, it may compensate for the greatly missed Home Button.

What body/design changes will iPhone 9 have?

A more sleek or body, a finer display size and possibly a smaller notch. We cannot expect Apple to bring that up-down sliding camera as in Oppo Find X. But still, a further smaller notch is possible.

Some experts say that Apple may also bring back the Silver Aluminium Strip which we can see in models such as iPhone 4, 5 and SE. Well, these 3 were also one of the most successful iPhones. If you ask me, I would want that to be true! But its difficult to imagine an infinity display along with that design.

Other than that, there’s not much that Apple can do in the designs. Apple has already tried the single lens round camera, vertical dual lens camera and horizontal dual lens camera. But Apple has never experimented a Round dual lens camera (like that in moto devices) on an iPhone ever before. Well, I think it’ll never even try that either.

HP 104tx and Dell inspiron 5570 are two of the most promising student laptops available in the market. Both of them are capable to perform heavy tasks. Dell inspiron will cost you $860 or INR 61,000 and price for hp 104tx will be $840 or INR 59,500.

The iPhone X was priced at EUR 1,000 or Rs. 89,000/- for the basic 64 GB variant. The X plus will never fall below that price. Logically, they’ll price it definitely more than the iPhone X, because the ‘Plus’ variant is always more expensive than the basic one.

But, as per the experts, the iPhone X Plus will be also be priced at EUR 1,000 (same as the iPhone X). The reason for this is that – The size of market that Apple has, in order to sustain and increase it, Apple cannot and should not go above the mark of EUR 1,000. Because now there are tough competitors in the market other than Samsung. The famous YouTuber Unbox Therapy  has already stated the Huawei P20 Pro to be a better device than the iPhone X. And P20 Pro is less expensive than iPhone {EUR 610/-}.

Release Date

On 21 August, German website Macerkopf claimed that the new iPhones will be available to pre-order on Friday (14 September). That site says that German networks are preparing to start taking pre-orders on that day. The launch event will be held on Tuesday (11, September) or Wednesday (12, September). This could suggest that the phone will go on sale on Friday (21, September) or, at the latest, Friday (28, September).

In 2017 the official release was on Friday 22 September.

Expected Improvements and Features

Basic Improvements

Apple is coming out soon with a new player in the market. It is going to be a bigger version of the previously launched iPhone X. And there is a great possibility that size will be the only difference in the new iPhone X plus from the iPhone X. But of course, Apple will also bring some camera improvements, like Super Slow Motion recording, improved low light camera or more water resistance and other general improvements. But one thing that is least expected from Apple is a BIGGER BATTERY. But I can’t say that for sure, and there’s a reason for that. This year, twice has Apple been criticized for their battery this year. Once for the battery drain problems in older iPhones, and once again for heating problems in the new mac. So if they use their common sense, the logical thing to do will be to improve their battery’s performance at least.

Bigger Battery

I’ve been digging the internet about the Apple’s leaks, and one prominent one was a bigger Battery. The funny thing about this was that, everyone on their blog wrote about battery improvements but, nobody was sure. They all said that they anticipate it, but it’s not sure. Now you’ll think why is no one sure if Apple will do so or not?

Let me explain, Apple has restrained from using a bigger battery in order to avoid heating problems. They like to maintain a balance of other things in order to maintain their premium feel which they just can’t sacrifice for the sake of more features. But, I’m pretty sure that Apple will have to and they will upgrade their battery.

Dark Mode / Night Mode

This rumor has spread out pretty fast in the market and the public is actually very excited for it. They were first expecting Apple to launch it in the latest iOS update, but probably Apple is saving it to be launched with the new devices. Or it may just launch it in the iOS 12 itself. The Dark mode is a great feature to use, since most of us habitually use our devices at night for long hours now. It reduces the strain it puts on our eyes and saves us from the ills of blue Light.

Better Display and Sensors

Apple has always been kept up the sensors in their latest iPhones up-to-date. I expect Apple won’t deflect from that legacy in the iPhone X plus. Maybe a more advanced version of face detection, which no security company could breach. Because many top class business men, bureaucrats, ministers etc.. use iPhones.

Also, better sensors could mean better camera, quicker autodetection, more stability etc.. After all, we all want to replace the DSLRs with our handsets 😉

Priced at Rs. 20,999/- or EUR 260 it is a little expensive as compared to usual Xiaomi Prices.

Rumors – Truth and Lies

When the iPhone X had come out, experts had criticised it and since then criticism had followed Apple – First for the Battery issue and then for the over heating problem in the new MacBook. Also, Apple has been criticized to a great deal for it’s overpricing and small battery size. We can expect to see more flexible variants and respectively flexible pricing.

Also, this is the smartest move by Apple, since for a long time now the market has been demanding for a small sized (like the size of iPhone SE) infinity display device. Well this is because of the improved screen to body ratio and reduced safety. With increased screen to body ratio, the user gets a bigger screen with a small device. And with the increased screen, there is an increased danger for screen to break. So, a smaller device means better handling and increases the reduced safety.

So, you can count on it to be true, that She is releasing these variants. I am pretty sure of it. BUT, I’m not sure if it’s going to repeat the same old mistake of releasing an iPhone XC.

The Genesis, existence & growth of Apple has been only and only due to the premium feel which comes when the premium hardware is used with the premium iOS. And iPhone users have a reputation of a kind of Classism (there are 3 classes in the tech world – iOS users, Android users and windows users). Now windows users are someone about whom, nobody talks (or cares) much. The Android users are further divided into – premium device users and budget device users. The all new Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is due to be released in the month of October, 2018. It is a big display phone with a premium built quality. It comes with an Aluminium frame body (guessing from its previous model trends), with a weight of around 230 grams. following the trend for infinity screens, the device shall probably come with a notch-less screen. Moreover, it’s battery shall be nothing less than 5,500 mAh.

Mi Max 3, just like mi Max 2 is expected to have a quick charging, but I hope Xiaomi to introduce dash charging as well with this model.

The device is expected to be powered by a 600 series SnapDragon chipset {probably 636}. Along with that comes an Aderno 509 GPU, an Octa-core 1.8 GHz processor and Android 8.1 {Oreo}. But, the question is, what will be the major upgradations as compared to Xiaomi mi max 2, and should a user upgrade to mi max 3.

Both the devices have  IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 16M colours. They both have a 1080 x 2160 pixels resolution, but the major difference will be in the screen to body ratio and the screen size. Other than that, we are not sure if the new device will have the same Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection or a higher and better version.

RAM and Memory –

The all new Mi Max 3 is to be made available at 64GB + 4GB and 128GB + 6 GB {with snapdragon 636} variants as against the 128/64/32GB + 4GB{snapdragon 625} variants of the Mi Max 2. Well, these variant combinations have pretty much become the industry standards. For instance, take the case of Motorola. With their latest Moto G6 variants, they provided 4GB and 3Gb RAM variants and a 450 SnapDragon, due to which their device was criticized in the market.

Additionally, both of them provide for an expandable memory of upto 256GB in 2nd Sim Slot. We are still not sure if Mi Max 3 will come up with a 3rd slot dedicated for SD cards.

Xiaomi has had a good reputation for upgrading its camera with the new models substantially enough to satisfy their customers. Xiaomi has kept this reputation with this device as well.

The Mi Max 3 comes with a 1.9 mm aperture as compared to 2.0 mm aperture of Mi Max 2. Both have the same 12 MP main camera, but with Mi Max 3, you now get more options and quality for videography as well. The Slow-motion video has also been improvised to some extent. However, you can truly know the changes and real improvements of the camera quality only when one sees it.

You should buy the MI Max 3 if and only if you need a notch-less display and more RAM. And go for this device only if you don’t want to deviate from Xiaomi. If you were to ask me, I would suggest you to use different manufacturer’s devices and not stick to one particular manufacturer. I personally like to do that because I like to experiment using different interfaces and hardware and how it ultimately feels like. Well, I do that also because I’m a Tech Geek… lol.

OS and User experience –

The OnePlus 6 runs with a near stock android feel. The Xiaomi Pocophone F1 on the other hand works with the MIUI interface. For developers and tech geeks, stock android feel is intimidating. While MIUI is not bad enough itself. But here its user’s discretion based on their personal likings and dislikes. Tell us below what do you prefer – Stock Android or MIUI?

Oneplus 6 comes with a 3,300 mAh battery size, whereas the Pocophone comes with a 4,000 mAh battery size. Clearly enough. the Pocophone is the winner here, BUT what about the charging time? The OnePlus 6 comes with Dash Charging. It charges 0-60% withing 30 minutes of charging. However, the pocophone also comes with a quick charging feature, but dash charging is faster.

So, other than battery, the charging speed is something that really matters to me. This is because when we live in cities, we have a charging dock almost everywhere, and if you are getting a 0-20% charge in  10 minutes on a 3,300 mAh battery, I think its pretty awesome!

OnePlus 6 comes with a premium built with a glass back and aluminium frame. The pocophone just like average Xiaomi devices comes in a plastic frame. My experience with the plastic frame had previously went pretty bad, because of the heating problem of Redmi Note 3, which is why I switched to iPhone 8 and now OnePlus 6.

People might tell you that the body does not matter, but believe me, it does. Other than the software part and features, a strong and durable build is essential. There’s a distinction between a durable and a premium built. OnePlus 6 offers something between them.

Storage and RAM –

Both the Pocophone F1 and the OnePlus 6 comes with 64GB, 128Gb and 256Gb variants. And both provide 6GB as well as 8GB RAM variants. Also, both of them offer a the same chipset – Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845.

So, you must be thinking its a tie between the two in this aspect. No, there isn’t. Despite the great similarities, which are admirable for pocophone with such a low price, the OnePlus 6 is still faster. That is because, the OnePlus 6 runs like a near Stock Android. The pocophone features MIUI. That makes OnePlus 6 faster than the Xiaomi device.

The biggest and most crucial aspect. The Xiaomi device is priced somewhere around $299 or Rs. 20,999/- . The OnePlus 6 on the other hand is priced at $500 or Rs. 35,000/- . Well, if you ask me, the price for both the devices is very well justified. The OnePlus 6 comes with a better body and hardware. The aluminium frame and the Glass Back themselves rise the price. The Xiaomi being famous for cutting the costs in the Body uses a plastic frame and no glass back.

I don’t seek to put one over the other here. All I want to state here is that both the devices are build to satisfy the needs of different users. So both are winners in this aspect as per me. But going with the common logic –

“What you see is what you get” is a quote accurate to this aspect. The Xiaomi has done admirably well given the price, but OnePlus here defeats Xiaomi with a minor difference. The Xiaomi’s Pocophone comes with a LCD display and OnePlus 6 comes with a AMOLED display.

Motorola has recently launched 3 new devices under its E Series. The trio consists of Moto E5, Moto E5 Plus and Moto E5 Play. All of the three devices have pretty random combination of Specifications with few similarities. The Price also ranges from EUR 100 – 169.

These budget devices have a pretty strong hardware as against that of their counterparts in same range. And that’s what Moto is famous about, its strong hardware. The trio come with Android 8.1 or Android Oreo which is great. It was also quite obvious of Motorola to feature the latest Android version in their devices.

However, one big flaw in the Moto range is the huge difference in the Batteries of the 3 devices. The Battery backup ranges between 2,800 mAh to 5,000 mAh, which is pretty huge and pretty eerie. I mean, a big battery is something that is good for all occasions and situation. So, according to me, ever d3evice should come up with a big battery.

The roles that these three deices aim to serve are really different. Moto E5 is just for normal use, Moto E5 Play for light and Moto E5 Plus for a heavier (Gaming) use. But the wide gap in the camera is something that is unlikely. Overall, Motorola has shown consistency in offering a wide variety of pocket friendly (Low Priced) devices with a wider variety of specifications.
